THE THREE WRITING SYSTEMS OF THE GEORGIAN ALPHABET
This project was made right before UNESCO added Georgian alphabet to the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. The main goal was to show and underline the harmonic co-existence of three Georgian alphabets.
Thanks to their different culture and social functions, they reflect Georgia’s identity and diversity.
The three alphabets include Mkhedruli - which is taught in school and is used in everyday writing. The other two – Mrgvlovani and Nuskhuri – are mostly used and taught by the Georgian Orthodox church.
